Oh delightful!

Dame Edna - no, sorry, Barry Humphries - was on Parkinson's top 10 entertainers last night.

Just coincidentally, of course....

No, haven't read the Kevin book. It sounded kind of bleak..... But Beyond Black is excellent. Bleak also, but excellent, and funny too. Hilary Mantel is great I think. She writes so well.

Yes, I loved the Magic toy shop. And the Company of Wolves.

So many good books, so little time.

I hope this wasn't done to mock the ladies. They look pretty spiffy to me: stylish eyewear, hair done, fit, and good jewellery.

Why does everyone in your photos have such great eyewear? Geez, sometimes I wish I wore glasses! :)

And by the way, I'm coughing and spluttering right along with you...

My mom use to say:
"You can be joking with ( to, for ? ) old people, but not handicaps".
I think, meaning was, that you yourself are someday old, if you are lucky enough and may be - just may be, that some young person will be joking a little :)
Get well soon and continue both serious, joking and between them posts!

I hope that you feel better soon, Pod!

Oh you found her! Good job pod, which one turned out to be under the bridge? This isn't to mock, but there's something in the stare. Scared me like washington cube's avatar.

They are DELIGHTFUL!! I'm headed in that direction - in fact I have the perfect eyeglasses, but no wrinkles yet (thank god!)

Pod I think you are my favorite philosopher du jour these days! Your words about global warming - YES - enjoy it! Hey where's our new planet? Where is Sun Ra when we really need him??

INC - of course! why didn't i think of that?

LETTY - it really bugs me that there are possible limitless amounts of great books/artists/ music/ that i will probably never know of or see or hear or have the time for!!! aargh!

WC - a true gentleman never mocks a lady!!

STEVE - i'm not pleased you are ill, but there is some snotty comfort in knowing we suffer together. and yes i move in very stylish circles.....

FAYENESS - ooh i cant wait!!

MIMMU - a wise mummu (sorry) you had! one must be able to laugh at oneself. i certainly do!

MA - thanks. you can send food parcels if you like. nothing cheesy though hey? ;0p

JA - don't be fooled. the two are one, hence the cropping of the photo. there be only one pair of legs sitting on that bench.....and you thought the stare was scary.....

REYA - i severely doubt you will need as much foundation, but if you so desire, may you be draped in fineries! about our planet (?Reypod?), perhaps it will have to exist in the ethers? or maybe somewhere in the wildwood with the holiest of hoses??

I do like them glasses but they remind me of this woman I know....lives in the accomidation, although she's slightly younger. She has a towell inscribed with "BATH GIRLS DO IT IN THE SHOWER!" She's like forty, give it up! Why, oh why, would I think that when looking at these delectable doublemint ladies? Maybe I misjudged that stare and they are truly happy, very happy, er, retirement has been good to them both.

so are you ever going to tell us how you came in contact with this treasure. i hope we're not speculating on some spinster grandaunts of yours.

Oh do excuse me 'Ja...inbath'...what was that all about..."Oh she's like forty!"

Blimey darlin'...I am 'like forty' and I still do it in the bath....and many other places.. Pffft!

Pod - next time you see those old dames...tell 'em they ROCK!

Awwww thanks Pod. Thats a sweet idea, not a silly idea.

I will rush out and buy it tomorrow.
No, thats a lie.
I wont rush, I try not to rush so much these days, but I will buy it.

Oh - and speaking as someone who is somewhat older than Wendz - yes, imagine that! - pfffttt! bah! tch!!! to ja inbath.

40 is the new 20, you know.

Ouch, I'm getting hammered in these comments. To lettuce and wendz, forgive me. You're photos make you look much younger...and wiser. Hopefully you don't advertise anything in a communal bathroom?

Hmm, ok how about a compromise. I'll up the woman's age to a high 40 or fifty-somethaing. And she's an alternative bell-ringer, which we all know just wears you down...and makes you look, er, past 60? I think that's about the highest I can go with her.

What relation are these lovely ladies to you, Pod? Family, friends, pretty people at a party?

...pretty people at a popping party?

...pretty people at a pretentiously prude popping party packed with purple pomegranates?

I'll stop now, but I remain admiring of your photograph(s).

To all the pod people I ruffled today,

Old people are great but forty is not old. Fifty is not old. I’d even date you if you were sixty. And if forty is the new twenty then sixty is the new thirty—and thirty, though untrustable, is certainly dateable in my book. Young women, please forgive me and let me again be part of this fold, I have a lot to learn.

(Apolgizer-
So if 60 is 30 and 40 is 20, if you date women your own age, you're a pedophile. Ah, it all makes sense now.)

Bwaha ha ha ha...now that's more like it....apology accepted and welcome back to 'the fold'. N0 harm done...you young spring chickens. Tch! ;)

hee hee hee. Smiling graciously here also.

I know how old 40 sounds till you get there - but the same is true of 30, and 50 (at least, I'm hoping 50 wont sound so old when I get there. eeek!) and I hear even people over 60 sometimes know how to have fun.

Nice to have you in the pod-fold, Ja...inbath.

Pushin fifty , wishing I was the kind of fat I was at forty. Ah ,it all looks good in retrospect.
Keep your brains young, people.
