GOING HOME

The end of a beautiful day.

Especially for Vicky, and all the others that have gone to help the sun to shine brighter for us.

How lucky we are.

I never thought about the souls of those who have passed adding to the brightness of the big light in the sky, but I'm sure you're right about this.

It's a beautiful photo. The air has such a lovely texture, I can almost feel it on my skin. Thank you!

Normally, this is where I'd insert an intended-to-be-funny-but-probably-isn't quip... but given the caption of your photo, I don't think it's appropriate, and I'm not particularly gifted at crafting responses that ARE appropriate. I am sorry.

So I'll just say it's a very touching and superbly-shot photo. Well done, Pod.

"Spirited Away".

That anime has nothing to do with your stunning photo and astute observation but IMO it would be an appropriate title.

Ai luvs ya!

And so we lay in the grass and as the sun goes down we reflect on a beautiful day.

There is pain and beauty in seeing the day end but nothing is ever over. The night is rich to those who open up to it and tomorrow will bring another day.

Btw - I saw you've got 'The Faraway Tree' in your fave books... do you remember those sweets they put in their mouths that swelled and swelled until the filled the whole mouth, then burst with honey all over the tongue?

... a trip down memory lane! :-D

My oh my, this is so soothing to my spirit. It's a place one can escape to when the need is there, a safe haven of warmth and love.

Have a great weekend, Pod!

yeah, but brighter areas also increase the contrast with the darker spots (as your photo proves).
maybe this is just the pessimism gained (i wouldn't say pragmatism) from living in the overcast kingdom.

Yes, that's more like it.

I bet it is even lovelier just over the hill and into the valley below.

I saw some storks in Portugal. That was cool. Making their nests on the top of factory chimnies.

I also saw some excellent butterflies and dragonflies.
