GRUMPY OLD POD

After two consecutive nights of being woken by either very heavy rain (which I don't mind), or very drunk Irish folk arguing outside my window (which I do mind), I found myself rather grumpy on waking this morn. A Pod needs his sleep you see. So I felt like knocking on the door of this place, shouting "Emergency! Could I have some happy gas please?!".

Instead I went for a walk in the hidden gem that is Cooper's Park, where I run, but because of all the rain, haven't been able to for a few days. The early morning sun was bouncing off the rain heavy trees, the birds were cheerily celebrating the blue skies, and the spiders were busy mending their rain damaged webs.

Further along I marvelled in the multi-layered smells hanging in the fresh morning air, and the sound of the babbling stream. I was reminded of my previous post (below) and I imagined myself in The Enchanted Wood. And then I saw this...

......and realised that I needn't be a grumpy old Pod. On my way to work, I was standing waiting to cross the road, when a runaway pink balloon drifted by and then up and up and up. Pinky blue. Not an ounce of grump left.

And then a bird shat on me.

True.

Have lucky days!!

Excellent Pod! I almost feel like I had a walk with you, and that was lovely.

Spiders are cool.

I, too, need my sleep and get cross when I'm awakened unexpectedly.

My goodness, what a morning you had! I love all the pics so much! the reflection pic of happy gas is perfect, but all that deep green on your walk - so luxurious. I felt like I could share the air with you and Miss Muffet.

What was that bird thinking? For heaven's sake!

You sure the stream was babbling? Oh dear, streams need to be clear. :)

It takes more that a bird doing a Jackson Pollock imitation to occlude the camera and the eye of Pod.

great spider webs and then Miss Muffet! Your life is visually rich , Pod, because you have the eyes to see.
A Bob needs his sleep too, so I can relate. I can't remember when I've gotten a real solid 8 hours--planes, buses, hotels are not conducive to a decent nights rest.

I steer clear of the happy gas. It will mess you up.

In the movie "Under The Tuscan Sun" the Italians claim it is good luck to have bird shit on you. A bird craps on Diane Lane and right away she gets a great real estate deal closed.

That middle photo reminds me of a place I go to with a dear and lovely friend of mine. It reminds me of that place, mystical and lovely. I imagine all sorts of places and I wouldn't want to be without my places that I go to. That photo is just gorgeous. It's like a place I go to. It's fantastic. I'm so glad to be in the fantastic places.

I also hope you get your parcel soon. Hope you are feeling better soonxxx

Come ride with us in the air. We are all only breaths away from each other in reality. I'm sure. Close your eyes everyone and imagine everything is possible. Everything.

It's good to come home to the good places and the lovely people.

Thank goodness for friendship. Thank goodness for good people. Thank goodness for lovely people.

Sometimes all we need to do is walk and think. Walk and talk. Visit nature. Visit imaginary worlds. Appreciate friendships. Appreciate things in comparison to others. Think of little moths. The moths watch down on us. All of the people who aren't here anymore watch us. They give us life.

Ah ah! J'ai bien ri! Pauvre Pod tout grincheux..."Happy gas" stays a mystery for me. Is it this peroxyde d'azote (in English?) which make laugh? The anaesthetist used it for me when my children were born by caesarean and I have been asking some more...I read with more attention your books list on Blogger and saw Ph. Pullman (and Killing a mocking bird...)

Did you take that Happy Gas photo at your dentist??

Thanks so much for the multiple photos and the narrative. It was an unexpected treat to get to accompany you on a walk. I could practically smell the rain. :)

Ah it's the small things Pod eh? Looking for the detail which you are so good at. I love it that our spirits can be lifted by something so simple. I am a bit of a Pollyanna me, I tend to ignore the shit things and focus only on what is nice and makes me happy. Not always possible but I try.

Thanks for the buttons link, that was fab :-)

A very different Pod-Post this time. Reflective; insightful. Great pics, of course. [aren't they always?] Loved the Little Miss Muffet tag ... are you now sitting on a tuffet?

Thanks Pod, for a new journey to the brain of Pod. I enjoyed the trip.

wow.
yeah, i feel like i've been shat on for two weeks now.
it's been really bad, not going to go into details but yeah.
anyway, last night i went to bed to get up early for class.
sometime later, a friend phones me up to tell me i've won a photo contest. huzzah, first good news all week!
i go back to bed.
i then sleep through an important first class and somehow manage to make an ass out of myself by going in to the class and sitting in the first row a minute before the lecture ends...
i suppose i don't have to wash my clothes right away, at least.

No shit! I mean, I'm sorry about the bird.

Sounds like you had a terrific day, though. Wonderful pics. And yeah, the last pic and the previous post link nicely.

My mom once tried to use "shat" for a triple-word score in a Scrabble game. I don't think I let her get away with it.

In other news, I am thrilled that you have provided three photos for us to gape at. Yaybeans!
