APPARITION IN TARTAN

Just lately I seem to be noticing people that to me look like they are from somewhere else, or some time else I should say. I am sure that this says something about my current state of mind rather than there actually being a recent portal that has opened up for stray time travelers. This girl fascinated me a little. She looked as though she was looking at something that nobody else could see, and she appeared quite alien to her surroundings. I can't really explain why in words, it was more of a feeling. So I made the picture out of focus , for my own sake, to emphasise my feeling of blurriness. The image I am sure means more to me than it will to anybody else, but the girl was rather extraordinary. When I walked away, I didn't turn to look back because in my mind, she had blurred completely out of view and gone back to the place from whence she came, wherever that may be!

The Podbrain rambles on.....

Now that Ms. Lettuce has had her tea, we can get down to business.

You've described in words and image a sense I sometimes get about a person or place seeming not to belong where it or she or he is in fact seen, producing a sense of disconnect. She--your she here, is lovely, and yes, she does not belong here, she belongs--well, she belongs somewhere else, and perhaps it will come to you and you will let us know. Or perhaps this image will remind us of the lure of the disconnect that visits us all from time to time, like an unannounced guest.

Of course I know exactly what you're talking about. I believe there are stray time travellers walking around all the time, though whether or not I notice them has to do with some kind of phasic state of my own.

Sometimes I'll see one of these alien beings, and turn to whomever is with me so I can ask, "Can you see that woman?" Sometimes my companions do see the apparitions, sometimes not.

Happy Halloween dear brother!!

Do you think stray time travelers KNOW they're traveling? Or do they wind up just looking around and thinking, "Gee, this all looks very different!"

Love the blurry effect. :)

I do like her expression of private infatuation with something seen or unseen. Your post trips me out because, I am currently reading "The Time Travelers' Wife", and here you are talking about this gal doing it!

Happy trails...

That is a really interesting take on a moment in time. Of course, there well could be time portals, nothing is impossible.

I like the way you blurred the photo so the viewer can get a sense of what your feelings are about the moment. Well done!

I like this alot, and your choice of blur and your resoning even more. I find that your words are allmost as compelling as your shots them selves. Great one.

Hi Pod.. She does look like she's from somewhere else. I often feel that way myself. You left a comment on my blog a long time ago and wanted to thank you for it.

Oh poddy pie, what have you been drinking or smoking, seeing aliens everywhere? Ok, it's halloween night so have a go!

All right, so there are time travellers around and it takes a certain type of people to see them. You are one of them.

None of that in what I see from my window. Come and have a look!

Sometimes I walk around so lost in thought that I am sure I must look as though I stepped in from another time or place. Perhaps somewhere there is a slightly out of focus picture of me floating about.

Or is that me?
