Oh, is the brown-shoed foot suppose to provoke me now? Well, it won't. All I'll say is brownie better start wearing some socks because those marble(?) pavements look really nice but are terrible on your feet and knees.
Are they lovers of lunch (as in the food and accoutrements of lunch) or are they lovers who meet at lunchtime.
This is wonderful. You have a great imagination.
Nasty looking foot...
or rather ankle/shin...
another peculiar piccy pod.
are you sure you know how to point one of those things? you're not just getting some seriously bad parallax errors???
:)
'tis cool stuff though.
arty :)
This is a lovely portrait of a perfect moment inbetween appointments, work, errands, who knows what?
Hope you're feeling better, returning from the nasty cold to your usual standards of excellence!
"Momentary Academic" beat me to the punch. That was my question, too. I love your enigmatic photo captions, Pod.
Hope your cold is better! I thought mine was relapsing last night, but I feel OK this morning, so maybe it really is on the run...
BTW, I love that Akram Khan Web site! Mesmerizing, kind of. I'll watch to see when he performs here...
Old friend, old friend
Sat on their park bench
Like bookends
A newspaper blown though the grass
Falls on the round toes
Of the high shoes
Of the old friends.
Old friends,
Winter companions,
The old men
Lost in their overcoats,
Waiting for the sunset.
The sounds of the city,
Sifting through trees,
Settle like dust
On the shoulders
Of the old friends.
Can you imagine us
Years from today,
Sharing a park bench quietly?
How terribly strange
To be seventy.
Old friends,
Memory brushes the same years
Silently sharing the same fears
I am a breakfest Lover! yeahhhh ... Nice shot! hahahaha
Happy New Year my little Pod you like... which one is you then? the one in the glasses or the one in the reflection holding the budgie tray?? oh that gave it away.... love those old ladies, one has young eyes, you can see she was beautiful, still is but you know what I mean and what great teeth? did you take that at your ballroom dancing club?
Liked the poem :)
Looks like you are inspiring people again Mr Pod.
Washington, that's a great Simon & Garfunkel lyric. And you're right -- this photo does bring it to mind!
ANOTHER amazing photograph by Pod. HOW on Earth did you manage to take this one? Bravo.
Blimey those feet are still there! They look so OLD they freak me out. I don't want feet like that.
JA - yes its all a big test. we are trying to catch you out!
MA - hmmm....that is the question. i think they are secret lovers that meet up at lunch for a saucy sandwich
FAYE - ta love ;0)
INC - some of the worst mistakes become great successes ;0)
REYA - thank ye. i am still a bit of a snotpod but feeling much better thanks!
STEVE - thought you would like the dancer. hope zero degrees comes there. amazing!
WC - oh i just realised that in abbreviating you i may be insulting you by calling you a toilet en francais. i shall have to think of something else! i love that song but it makes me sad as i miss ny best friend who is in new york. we are sure we will end up parked side by side in our wheelchairs one day...
RATZ - breakfast is the best! i look forward to it when i am falling asleep at night....
CLAMMERS - no, it was taken at the smoked meat purveyors pre-christmas charity buffet and mingle if you must know...

LA WEND - hark at you!! weren't you reprimanding some youndg whipper snapper only moments ago for saying 40 was old......double standards hey? i dont know! ;0P
SIMON - hang on, i'll just slip me comfy (brown) shoes on and i'll be down the kebab shop as quickly as me old bones'll carry me.....save us a swig!
Very cool picture.
CHARACTER
Lunch time lovers? Where's the love? I'd need to see more to believe you? My idea of lovers is more intimate. You know how the French behave on public benches!
Oooh - very Martin Parr. Gorgeous. I've got 2 Martin Parr's - fawn slacks and a sandwich on the knee and then slippers and socks on a bench - just a picture of the feet. Brilliant. xx
i humbly or humbley bow to your reference to one of my idols martin parr...the stuff he captures is purely brilliant. thanks you big hard mummy! x
Yes Mr Parr is a big favourite of mine too - I'm glad to be the proud owner of two of his pics. Of course - I laugh as I chose the one with slippers and socks as the main subject - shoe freak that I am!! But seriously - your photo's are brilliant and don't you forget it. xxx
