Aaaaaaah sculptures by the sea, my favourite Sydney event! Are you trying to make me homesick, you monster? Please show me more, show me everything.

And there's one thing you can do to avoid the crowds. Go at 6 am. Come on, you know you can do it. Because I'm worth it.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

re your comment "Always too many people around to take any decent photos......", this is a case where having someone in the frame adds heaps to the photo. The man there gives the measure of statue. Competition? Sorry, he's no match for the other guy!

I kind of like the guy in the photo, but I know what you mean. At least it wasn't two people talking about egg salad sandwiches. And it is hard to wait for people to move, because someone else moves into the shot.

real nice color in this shot.

pod, the photo would not be the same without him. You needed him! II love their opposing viewpoints. The statue is looking inward while the man is looking what I assume to be seaward.

love it!

And BTW, this particular shot is fantastic. Seeing from your other photos where this sculpture is located (of course I recognise the place) I believe you made the most of it. You've added depth, confrontation, it's brilliant. Keep up the good work Pod.

Take a shotgun with you.
Fire once into the air and then run screaming at the crowds you wish to move.
Then you should have 5 mins of peace in which to get the shot you want before the police arrive.
When you explain it was for 'arts' sake they should let you go about your ways...They may even pose...

see - heres me smiling again!

yes, i think the man is looking at the statue but i'm, not sure whether the statue is really absorbed in looking at the sea or whether he's trying not to stare back.

I'd agree with everyone else who reckons the bloke on the right adds so much to the pic, especially as he's such an interesting shape. In my mind he's definitely looking at the sculpture, which is pretty impressive too.

It's amazing how much they complement each other. Go on! Admit it! You picked him out of the crowd and asked him to stand there eh? Just kidding. Love the photo.
