TODAY

Inspired by the lovely Heater (actually named Heather the Pink, but you know me by now). Maybe there are higher powers than those that seem to be in control at the moment? Maybe there is a different power, that of positive thought? I know lots of us are thinking along these lines, and maybe if we all think the same thing, some level will be raised and things will start to change. I will be wishing hard, that's for sure. Heather, this is for you and yours.....

(I developed this print myself hence the fingerprints and artifacts, which I think kinda add to it)

There's a feeling of solitude. Sort of. Yet, it isn't a lonely shot. On the contrary, with the 2 poles in the background, it adds a sense of hopefulness, of friendships, I'm feeling all kinds of things really. Good shot Poddy.

i agree with edwin.

My favorite astrologer, Rob Brezsny (freewillastrology.com) believes in PRONOIA - the opposite of paranoia (obviously). I think you, too, are a believer in pronoia.

Lovely pic. Can't see the fingerprints which is a shame! I bet they add texture and depth to an already beautiful pic.

I'm all for the personal touch (literally) in art. I just viewed a Courbet exhibit at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, and he was well known for applying paint with his fingers, at times. I tilted down to look from the underside, just to see the fingerprints. Your photograph says to me, "Continued communication despite obstacles." Aren't our perceptions interesting?

Nice composition, Pod! Like the varied lines. The fingerprints? Now, I thought that was my dirtly monitor. Actually, I don't see them ; )

Oh Poddy Pie - I needed a cheerful piccie and that just looks like the shitty weather here. (But at least we don't have fingerprints stamped all over the countryside.)

Can I put my order in? I can? Ooh lovely. Colour next. A big smiley happy picture.

;)

how come i missed 2 posts/pictures? you always post more when I'm paying less attention....

I loved the sky/telegraph wires picture (and the words). And this one too - esp. the contrast between the smudgy sky and the sharpness of the ground and pylon.

Yes, I love Hilary Mantel. And Carol Shields. i haven't come across Maggie Gee.

Have you read any Barbara Kingsolver? she's one of my favourites at the moment.

hope you have a great weekend.

I stand alone,
Below the hill,
As my beloved,
Pulls my strings,
Playing with another.

Sorry pod...tried to do happy words, i really did, but as usual, well, as usual...

oh, great pic though, bleak desolate and infected by man.
the poles are mans fingerprints all over the countryside, we really can't leave things untouched, even much of our 'natural wilderness' is managed...

I think that it is a stark and thought-provoking shot.

Pod - I am continually amazed by the quality and "friendly" yet pointed pictures you share with us. You are really quite brilliant, in addition to being a sweet soul. ;-)

Very strange lighting in that photo. Looks like a cloud was passing overhead, perhaps. And I like the "artifacts," which give the print a kind of beautiful imperfection. (Can't see the fingerprints, though.)

Lettuce et al: Barbara Kingsolver is the BEST. I love all her books. Probably "The Poisonwood Bible" is my favorite, but I liked "Prodigal Summer" a lot too.

EDWIN - how thoughtful of you to say such a thing! ;0)

HEATER - and why don't you deserve such things you big pink ninny? yes, very symbolic ;0)

REYA - shall look him up! the original print is much better. i think i may be hanging one on me wall!

WC - yes i love what people make of 'art', when sometimes you just take a pic without (consciously at least) thinking why you took it. intriguing.....

ZIPPY - maybe you need to get ya mop out!!

WENDZ - hark at you gettin all demanding just coz i said you had a sexy voice!! well i do aim to please, but you may have to wait a little bit if you don't mind, i can't locate the image i have in mind you and i am in a bit of a rush jislaaik!!

JAMES - i think you need a break from all the churches mate...

LETTY - keep up love!! i shall look into those books...so many have just been recommended all of a sudden. i want to film 'beyond black' too. maybe one day....what shall we do with RW? it'll be lawn bowls next.....

JANINO JANUS - what up? i have some xmas photos yes, but i think i ought not to post them here...i'll show you in private......

INC - a spontaneous incy poem. love it!! also love pylons in a funny way. they are hideous and manmade monstrosities but there is something about the harsh contrast

MA - it seems to have been. what thoughts were provoked pour toi?

JD - away with you! you flatter me too much. i have a long way to go yet, but thank you! ;0)

THOMP - hey! thomp sounds like a noise something plump makes hitting the ground from a very low wall.....is that the case? thanks for popping in!

STEVE - there was a massive low flying cloud as there often is in NZ. it makes me want to develop more, but i dont have the time!!

FAUSTINA - thank you! and hello of course. see you soon! ;0)
