FOR ZAK

I certainly hope you all appreciate the lengths I had to go to in my battle against the Giant Brain. The world is now a safe place! So it seems bigger is better? I didn't really see the blurry patches of sunlight on the last one until I saw it bigger, so you are getting nowt but big from me from now on. I guess I have decided to do a street art stint (which could go on forever), so here is the second picture. It was taken in Brighton, UK in September 2004, when I last visited. Oh what fun we had. I was lucky enough to be there at the right time of day to catch the well-behaved shadow. I am a bit more aware of shadows and light now.....

Zak, I know you probably won't see this, but this one is for you.

cool, but i find the stencil art, well, sort of lazy...it obviously takes effort to create once, but then it can be re-used...

urban art the lazy way....

:)

INC - i love stencil art. the art is in making the actual stencil, but also in choosing where it is placed. maybe i can get you to at least appreciate it........

JOHN - oh yes, me too. i didn't really notice! red is certainly a strong colour. it oftem makes my eyes go funny though.

There are some cool swervy shadows in there that look like ripples or tree rings. Wonder if they are lines where the plasterer wiped his plastering-tool.

That would be cool. Like a record of his work, overlaid with a record of the stenciller's work, and now layered with your photographic layer. Ooh! I nearly committed an accusative correlative there! That's a nice hierarchy of interpretations on the wall.

Pod, my eyes sometimes go red, but I think it's down to the cooking sherry.

I love stencils! Nice shadow, Pod, and great composition. As Simon mentioned, the wall has nice texture, and I like the faint traces of old graffiti too.

FABULOUS PICTURE - this is one of my favorites! I think it has somewhat dark and evil undertones, while appearing on the surface to be bright and cheery. I LOVE that quality...

STEVE - thank you. the grid and the face really go well together hey?

I'll reconsider my profile picture options, Pod.

Sherry is a metaphor for whatever vice currently has me by the throat. However I am fond of port.
