ABOVE IT ALL

On my way to Tokyo, the early morning sky was glorious. I couldn't get my big camera out quick enough, as it was in the overhead locker, and the lady next to me was huge and in the deepest sleep, so I had to violently rock her to get by and grab the camera. By the time I got sorted the glowing golden fluffy clouds had settled down a bit, but it was still lovely. I always get blown away by being above the clouds and above the earth. It makes me think of everyone that I love down below (yes that includes you!!), and wonder how you all are, and I make lots of happy wishes for you all. It was extra beautiful on this trip. I knew that some of you were having difficult times, so I bundled up some of the light into my palm and blew it down to you on a kiss. I hope you got it?

Some Tokyo pics to follow very shortly.

Keep warm, and remember, somebody loves you!

What a great picture pod. Thanks for sending warm thoughts into the blogosphere/atmosphere/whateversphere.

Looking forward to seeing Tokyo!

(PS: Did Leo Sawyer still have that unfeasibly curly hair and the funny head thing going on?)

edwin - glad you enjoyed the little kissy. thanks for dropping by. i know how busy you are!

RW - seeing leo was odd. he was much smaller than i had imagined (not that i had previously imagined what he would be like you must understand!). and his head was far too big for his body, and thats aside from the great mop of curly hair. i was slightly aghast as he looked almost like a midget. i think the look he gave me was one of recognition at my expression. he has seen that look a million times before and i am sure anticipates it now. i almost ran back to speak to him. leo! leo! and he had on an old purple scarf with tassles on it and a denim jacket. he looked quite scruffy to be honest. what would you say to him anyway?

kitty - oh love. i kinda knew you were feeling like that today. i kept some of those kisses in a little jar, for emergencies, so look out, i have blown one in the general direction of norwich. hope you get it!

Georgia O'Keeffe, one of my favorite painters, was so inspired by flying in a plane over clouds that she did a series of canvases based on the experience. They're called "Sky Above Clouds" and are her largest paintings. Check 'em out! (And thanks for the affection. :) )

hello steve - thanks for the tip off. i haven't actually seen those paintings of hers. loved the radiator building one she did. i guess being above it all and distanced gives us that bit of space to reflect. i love being above the clouds. see you again!
