Dude,
Your shots are amazing. Friggin awesome. Great compositions. That lamp post never looked so good.
Joel
Hey Man,
I just linked you on my blog - cool? Again, great stuff.
Joel
This last series of pictures is fantastic!
I was surprised by the form as the lines and lamps are so well in picture...
I especially liked clouds in the previous pictures.
At least he has his shadow.
Hey jamie if you come to NYC this year, give me some advance notice - it's a 3 hour train ride to (or from) DC. Maybe some of us DC bloggers will take a road trip to say hello. Or maybe you'll want to come visit our city. It's not as exciting as New York, but it is beautiful.
dig the texture
Cheers for the link podzee:) But I think you left it linked back to here and not to *fuzzy*... It's the thought! hehe.
I'm off to dress for a flaunting.
No matter how noble your existance, it's lonely at the top for poor Mr Lamppost.
You're fully aware that this is a beautifully stark photo, so I'm not going to belabor it.
(But 'tscool.)

me likes! nice color and lines. kinda makes me want to sing the blues.
thanks for the linkage!
On Mr. Lampie - we WOULD miss you if you were gone. I know when one of your cousins goes out on my street I miss them! So dark, so dark!
As usual Pod, a WONDERFUL photo and appropriate sentiment.
But, YOU are EVIL reminding me that it's summer down under and that you are going to the beach and eating watermelon. I'll remember that when It's summer here in Seattle and winter there - worse yet, I'll wait until I'm in the South of France in June and July and remind you then, French style!
hahahahah ... great! Pod, I dont have any words! Very good idea ....
burberry pastiche - hahaha!
i was going to comment on the texture, but someone already has.....
Lovely as usual Mr Pod. I am sorry that I was responsible for inflicting Bucks Fizz on you all day yesterday. I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy! Anyhow, why haven't I been added to your illustrious list yet? *pouts* ;-)
Mr. Lampie is almost human.
You've got it, Pod.
your picture comment almost reads like haiku or whatever that japanese poetry style thing is called/spelt...
:)
MR REYNOLDS - friggin thanks mate. thanks for the link hey ;0)
EARITH - hello again. liked you last lot too. its gonna be a good year i feel
HEY REYA - i shall i shall. how kind....how'd you know my 'other' name?? not that i mind of course
THOMP - what did you wear in the end. something very fetching i hope. fixed the link...sorry
JC - belabor...i never heard that before but i shall be using it ad nauseum now. i think someone is following you (and he is being a belabor).......
JA - so poetic and tender, i nearly wept....
RAINDOG - belt out a tune, go on! pleasure for the linkage ;0)
SIMON - but burberry is common....corner!!
JD - we shall see my friend, we shall see......(evil laughter)
RATZ - ;0)
LETTY -you know if i ever met you i would have to call you letty...would you mind terribly?
DONS - i shall rectify asap!! or perhaps it is mild punishment for inflicting 'the fizz' on me.....(more evil laughter)
MA - he looks like he got sad eyes dont he?
INC - i never really knew what haiku was until i just properly read about it. interesant as they say en francais
Great grain, lines and shadows, Pod. As always. It's great to be back and catch up with your latest posts. Thanks for keeping in touch, very much appreciated.
Left some comments on some of your previous photos but would have liked to comment on all, they are wonderful. Just one more: the spilled milk is fantastic!!!!
Hey Podster. Nice work as usual.
As I historical note I'd like to say all our highways and byways (in the US of A) used to be very well lit but the lamps have been going out one by one over the years and no one's replacing the bulbs. I noticed!
Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. I feel as if I've found a long lost brother on the web, meeting you.
oxo jo
Why do we think he's sad? He looks rather silly to me!
awwww.
i love what you have done here.
Sometimes, Steve, silliness is just a flimsy cover for the underlying sadness. This is especially true in the cases of tall electrical fixtures.
I wouldn't mind at all, I don't think. In fact, it would seem rather strange if you didn't.
Hope so, one day....
Weep for Led Zeppelin.
What confuses me are the lines running near the bottom. I take it they're shadows of power/telephone lines since they'd be too low to the sidewalk otherwise but they don't really jump over the pole. In fact, to my untrained eye, they are exactly level with the pole, which appears to be some (albeit small) distance away from the wall! What's going on here? Are the lines drawn in? What purpose do they serve? What is their abstraction?
They make me think of telephones. The blank wall makes me think of telephones. The sun going down to an unappreciative audience makes me think of telephones.
Because the fancifully cladded blank wall could be a telephone building (not sure if the same type of term is used Down Under), since those were famous/notoriously constructed without windows (like shopping malls) so occupants would lose sense of time. Time, time, is time the theme?
Mr. Lampie should cheer up as the sun goes down, his time is coming.
MADAME N - too kind, too kind!! ;0)
JOZEE - what a great thing to feel...there is a warm understanding hey? pleased we have met..hurrah!!
STEVE - see jc's comment...i think you have been told!
;0p
HEATER - thanks love ;0)
JC - so insightful and astute, not just of the human form but also of the electrical appliance species...i am suitably impressed!
LETTY - maybe as we enjoy aturn around the rink?
;0P
JA - i think truth be known, mr lampie is unusually large and the wires are those of the lesser spotted telegraph poles. this was actually taken in brighton, south of old blighty, and the building is a big council block that loomed over my little flat (full of chavs). it was rather hideous but i grew to love it..i shall post a pic of it soon, so you better watch you (you better not cry)...and yes, time is of the essence young james....
Pod, beautiful shot. That lampie has feelings.
just a reminder to ask your ladies about the scents...gives you an excuse to chat them up.
