"Of Men and Todds", a visual sequel to the famous John Steinbeck novel.

This is a great picture. Todd's ears are all blanched with joy! Now, how about giving your lil pal a tight yet careful hug?

I like how the lines of the bench juxtapose with Todd's design and I like the boy sitting there. they both seem to be watching the world go by at different brain speeds.

His ears are so sweet!! (Talking about Todd's, though I'm certain the man's ears are lovely, too.)

Todd is having quite an adventure, something he probably never dreamed could happen when he was stuck behind bars. You're such an angel to release him from captivity, and document his struggles and triumphs.

I salute you!

A wonderful series you have going here! I adore this pic, it really makes me laugh. We all get lost and found on occasion.

Good heavens, how did I get so far behind on your photos?? Anyway, this one is excellent...I like its warm, companionable feeling. Todd looks truly happy, even though we only see the back of his head!

That is a terrific sequence, very clever. Found you through Rick and Lynne aka New Jersey Girl and love what I see. I'll be along again and thanks for the view into the world of Pod.

This made me laugh out loud. In fact I'm still laughing.

I'm really glad Todd found a companion. They already seem very comfortable with one another... like old friends.

I really like this one as well. It begs the question "what?"

Also reminds me of travelling on those old London Routemaster busses in the eighties.

(warning: the following programme is classified M for mature audience. It contains violence that can be distressing to some readers)

Man, whispering, without turning his head:
- do I know you?

Todd :
- don't pretend you don't or I'll scream my lungs out. You abandoned me. For days I erred in the city, trying to find my way back, felt the cold, the rain... in the end I found the bench and knew at some stage you would come. I just had to wait... Take me home. Now. Or else I'll say everything I know, OK ?

Man, with incredible speed, takes a pin needle out of his pocket qnd pricks Todd. In less than a second he is deflated.

Man gets up and walks to the left. Leaves the field. Cut.

Sorry Pod - it's been a rainy day.
And perhaps I need more teachings from the Dalai Lama ;-)

the saga of todd continued ...

after an arduous few days, todd was finally able to put the steps behind him ...

finally, he thought, i get to stop
i thought for sure that i would POP
to sit on this bench is pure relief
and the view ... well, it's beyond belief!

but just who is the young man that todd is sitting next to?
we can only hope that he's harmless ... will this saga go on from here?

one thing is for certain, they can be happy that Daisy and her big botty is not sharing the bench with them or there would be no room ...

Whahahahahaha!!!

Oh so deliciously dead-pan. Ditto what Raindog said about the composition -- and there is something oddly Magritte-ish about it.

It also puts me in mind of other great comic duos -- Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, Vladimir and Estragon.

Pod I feel very bad about having written such a dreadful story. I could have left a nice comment about gazing at the sea together with a wonderful sense of companionship, and there you are. I must have a more twisted mind that I want to admit...

PS - I love his ears in this photo. Nice cold ears that you'd like to touch ? Or have you contemplated munching on them LOL ?

Pod,
I was thinking today that you should do a series of weather shots with Todd. Todd in a rainstorm, Todd basking in the sun, Todd building a snowman (perhaps). Could be interesting. No?

Something that could never happen to Todd: dying in a panic! The lil fellah will lead a long and happy life as long as he stays away from needles & pins.
