That's rather fitting...my most recent post is titled 'Aerial Boundaries' by guitar legend Michael Hedges..a nice ambient number.

And *WOW* I'm first for a change!!

Is the blurred picture intentional? or was there no time to adjust the settings? high speed an' all that.

i was taking a few and i wanted some blurred and some sharp, in honesty i couldn't say if this particular one was meant to be out of focus..it may be that i saw the chance and had to grab the moment before the bird passed

That picture of mine you commented on a while ago remember (cold morn) I used my new Sony Cybershot...the bloody things got more buttons than my remote for the TV?

Anyway, it has various settings including a high speed function that I've never used! the movie settings pretty good now I've just bought a 2gb memory card for it.

Are the pictures you take digital?

yes it takes a while to figure it all out. i use both. this one is digital ( i carry my digital everywhere and use the film for pictures i know i want to take, though i am leaning more digitally now after a very long period of abstaining). the lamp, the clouds, the black and white were film me lord

Winging swift and true.

That was an interesting discovery, Rupert Sheldrake. I try to find his books. Find someone, who is thinking in different way is always refreshing.
BTW, I answered to your comment on my site. Take care!

Pod how extraordinary! I'm talking about your photo and also the syncronicity of mentioning morphic fields. Wow! I love being on the same wavelength with you as you are my favorite philosopher.

um.... admitting here to not knowing anything about Rupert Sheldrake.

Hangs head in shame.

Do now though. And the stuff about animal telepathy is especially interesting.

Not as cute, though, as that website.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Thanks Pod.

Was there some discussion of Wim Wenders in the previous? I've just been watching and discussing Wings of Desire with some students. They don't all get it, but I keep trying. I've not watched anything else of his though - what else should I watch?

And the sky shapes the bird...and the bird shapes the photographer...I'm feeling most resonant, watching you morph!

Re: Lettuce's reference, "Wings of Desire" is one of my faves.

This is just fabulous. You've captured something about the confusion of flight as well. :)

i thought this was about the bands of color in the ice-corona below overcoming the bird and in the process of changing it.
i think i watched too much 'star trek' as a yoooooth.
but thats what i saw, and i thought it was cool!

Speaking of the wild blue yonder, Pod, I believe the planet Reypod exists in the Sombrero Galaxy! What do you think?

Apparently there's some sort of discussion about philosophy and symbolism and telepathy going on.

...I just think it's a pretty picture.

Wow! Do I say that a lot on your blog? This has a spiritual feel to it. Jonathon Livingston Seagull comes to mind.

MIMMU - thanks mimmu....i hope you didnt catch me naked in the snow?? ;0)

REYA - i am very comforted by the synchronicity of it all. it is most reassuring. i think reypod could sometimes exist in the sombrero galaxy yes!! what a great picture!

LETTY - dont be ashamed!! you wouldn't necessarily hear of him unless you study/work. have interest in such areas. his theories are very interesting though, perhaps you could experiment on the guineas?? i am sure they have some valuable info to share. about wim - buena vista social club should be seen, and paris, texas...though i have to admit, i prefer is photographs to his films

LORI - i did feel like i was the bird when i was lying on a rock gazing up at it...and i was wondering 'who would i like to crap on if i was a bird....?'

Hi Pod -- I thought I'd already commented on this photo, but I guess I haven't...must admit I've never heard of Rupert, but he sounds like an interesting fellow. (Isn't Wikipedia awesome, even if not uniformly accurate??) I like the "action feel" of the blurry bird!

i like the blurry bit in this - it gives me the impression that i'm looking up at the sky through half closed eyes because of the sun and i'm in a half blurry sleepy state.

Nice.
