Hahaha! I love it when someone messes with the signage.

Nice find, Your Podness. (And I'm so glad you were only dumped by a wave...out here, I've heard people call that being "tumped.")

I just made a comment on someone else's blog about how I love unexpected vandalism on signs. Wow. I was about to express dubious concern about the sorts of signs you have posted down under... until I read Mr. Witzel's comment. This is very, very well done. And you photographed it superbly. Mm mm mm.

I feel foolish. Of course it's a fake--- a very very good one....was had with the gun (figured the AKs were plentiful down under) and only caught on with the extra E going off the border....
well gooolly, don't i feel silly.

Yikes. A bit cruel*, actually. Seems to be a definite anti-immigrant or anti-refugee message. Or am I just taking it wrong?

(*Not you, Pod -- just the sign itself. :) )

Brilliant ... from the color of the sky, to the tongue-in-cheek sign, to the composition.

someone put a disturbing amount of thought into just how to vandalize that sign convincingly.
i admire that.

Hi Pod, I was wondering if you could be one judge on a panel of judges for a "cleverest/funniest whatever" comment on my blog ( the winner must live in north america ) and the prize is (big surprise) a bottle of perfume. let me know if you're available. thanks.

did you ever talk to those cute older ladies>??

On the way to Villawood... Or to Christmas island.. or now back to Indonesia as has just been announced. The status of refugee is no fun in Australia.

Perhaps the sign should appear on all Indonesian shores, as a warning??? I'm sure my friend Johnny wouldn't mind that. In fact everything he does is a message directed to those still awaiting a passage across. Sell him the sign!

Speaking of messing around with signs, I've committed a few of those myself. Will have to show them one day.

The feathers on the hat are the icing on the cake here.

What else can I add? Great shot, as usual. You are a master Mr. Pod.

It's a shame they didn't stick their stickers a bit better, but then the causual glance is enough :)

the extra E, the overlapping map...
the gun.

still a good sign alteration is always welcome :)

one of my favourite urban art forms....

My weekend paper had some mention of flip-flops being banned down there in Oz. Surely not? Isn't it the "thongs" capital of the world? ;p
