GLAMARAMA

This is Tamarama, known commonly as Glamarama. Yes, this is one, just one (of five) of 'my' local beaches, all within walking distance of my house. OK, I am rubbing it in, but I thought since some of you are constantly moaning about the friggin' cold, you might appreciate a bit of sunshine! So this is for those of you that need a little bit of cheering up. There is also a big Pod hug lurking, if you want one. Anyway, it ain't all fun having constant sunshine! The heat can make one very weary. Then there is the sand, once you've got a few grains in yer budgie smugglers, it's merry hell! The sign to the left of the photo warns of bluebottle jellyfish. They have very long tentacles that wrap around you, giving you multiple burning stings that can last a few days. So one must always be on one's guard you see. Is this working? I'm trying to make you feel better......

Is that the ACTUAL color of the ocean? It can't be. Is it? Bright blazing teal is my favorite color!

If I could be a thief and steal this for my desktop wallpaper (or to tack onto the inside of my casket, whichever was more boring), I WOULD.

Cripes. I think I might need to post an unseasonal beach picture of my own, soon.

Well Pod, you must advertize a bit this Photo Contest thing to increase your chances.

So if I may...

URGENT To Pod's fans: you have just a couple of days left to vote. Go here and nominate Pod in the Asia-Pacific section.

Ah yeah, Glamarama! Looks sensational! What a classic! (can you hear the Aussie intonations?)

Looks like the heat has come to make us all a bit funny in the head. At least you have the cool, jellyfish-infested waters. I have a hose running scalding hot water.

And what did you do with this picture? It looks like a very saturated shot from the 70s. I like it. But of course, it looks much better when you're standing there with the sand annoying your toes.

The "why this isn't always such fun" isn't working, no.

The cheering up is. I want to be in that ocean.

Hug, please.

What a dreafully crowded beach Pod, and bluebottles are such a nuisance LOL
All right, all right, I love budgie smugglers with or without sand, and transparent waters, and golden sands, and your photo is to die for... or rather to live for !

Love Tamarama - got a friend who's a lifesaver there.

We are a bunch of whiners here in DC! So sorry to complain - you know of course that next summer we'll be moaning about the heat. For heaven's sake!! Thanks for the hug, too.

The pic is gorgeous, all orange and green. Yum.

"Budgie smugglers"? Oh Pod, you are the best!!

Thank you Poddy Pie...I can feel the warmth (or is it the hot water bottle on my lap?)

I got a blue-bottle sting once....I was 6 and still remember the pain. Nasty things.

I'll take the hug too, if you don't mind...I need it badly.

It was part of equality at work.
A government idea.
Employing minorities,
And ‘challenged’ folk,
And being fair an’ all.

Johnny couldn’t know,
Of the pain and suffering,
To be caused,
When he placed the sign,
The jelly fish sign…

For he just guessed,
What went where,
He couldn’t read,
And thus didn’t know,
This beach was to a bombing range…
